The publication presents and summarizes the recent data (2006-2011) on the species distribution in Belarus, describes the most important threats and conservation measures are being undertaken. The list of all known breeding sites including those discovered in 2010 and 2011 is presented in the Annex. The book is dedicated to MoE Inspections, land users and other stakeholders.

The Life seminar took place in town of Quimper, France in September 2008. The number of presentations were given in frame of 3 workshops:

A The Aquatic warbler in 2008: assessment of knowledge;

B Habitat management: which methods and which economical and social development?

C Conservation of the species: which politicies, projects and points of view?

This manual offers an organized description of how habitat management and population monitoring were carried out within the context of the LIFE project in La Nava wetland, Spain. The methods used and results are described and evaluated from the vantage points of the cost and effectiveness of each measure and potential problems. This practical manual is dedicated especially to managers of natural spaces and to those involved in the conservation and study of the aquatic warbler or its habitat.
